I traveled to Kenya, Africa with a start-up clothing brand. We were able to visit where the products are made and also visit the orphanages that benefit from part of the profits.
This was one of those trips that is forever stamped on my heart. I am so grateful to have had this unique opportunity.
We traveled to areas that were marked as unsafe. I never felt any sort of threat besides a mosquito buzzing in my ear (I covered myself in head-to-toe clothing, sprayed bug spray everywhere, slept with my sleeping bag over my head…).
I connected with SO many beautiful people.
Highlights of the trip:
-staying in a hut on the beach for a week (they brought tea to my hut every morning at 6am)
-motorbiking through villages that had never seen a white person before (they were so excited and followed us everywhere)
-visiting the orphanages and seeing God working through the people who care for the children. Also loved hearing them sing, loved seeing their smiles and contagious laughter.
-The 3 course meals at Kizingo. AND THE STAFF!
-reeling in a yellow tail tuna during a storm… :-P
I really hope to go back someday. This was such a special trip for me.
